Cancer detection diagnosis (Image source: CBS) |
Scientists at the University of Florida (USA) have successfully developed a new technique that can detect cancer very early, before cancer symptoms appear.
This technique involves designing molecular strands of genetic material such as DNA or RNA into cell culture environments to investigate their ability to emit fluorescence after exposure to cancer-causing proteins.
This new method could help identify biological agents that cause cancer in extremely complex tissue or fluid samples, allowing for the early detection of new cancers or residual cancer cells following treatment.
