Due to numerous disagreements and objections, a dedicated .xxx domain group for “sex sites” will not be available in the near future. This information has recently been confirmed by the international domain management organization, ICANN.
According to a proposal from the U.S. Department of Commerce, ICANN is still researching and receiving feedback on the establishment of this domain group, a concept that was initially introduced back in August 2005.
In an effort to streamline the management process by organizing new domain clusters, ICANN agreed at the end of 2004 to introduce four new domain clusters, which include mobile services (.mobi), job markets (.jobs), postal services (.post), and travel services (.travel).
