The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting stated that today (April 1), this cold air front will continue to impact other areas in the North, and later affect the North and Central North Central regions.
Due to the influence of the cold air, starting today (April 1), there will be scattered rain and thunderstorms in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa, with moderate to heavy rainfall of 10-30mm/24h, and some places receiving up to 40mm/24h; the North and Central North Central regions will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of whirlwinds, lightning, hail, and strong gusty winds.
In the Hanoi area, on April 1, there will be moments of rain and thunderstorms.
In the Northern region, it will be cold with the lowest temperatures generally ranging from 14-17 degrees Celsius, and in mountainous areas, temperatures may drop below 12 degrees; from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue, starting today (April 1), it will also turn cold with the lowest temperatures generally between 15-18 degrees.
On land, the northeast wind will blow at level 3, while coastal areas will experience wind at levels 4-5; in the Gulf of Tonkin, the northeast wind will be strong at levels 6-7, gusting to levels 8-9, causing strong sea disturbances with wave heights from 2.0 to 4.0 meters. In the Northern East Sea (including the waters around the Paracel Islands), the northeast wind will be strong at level 7, gusting to levels 8-9, with strong sea disturbances and wave heights from 4.0 to 6.0 meters.
Starting this afternoon (April 1), the offshore region from Quang Tri to Ca Mau will experience gradually increasing northeast winds at levels 6-7, gusting to levels 8-9, causing strong sea disturbances with wave heights from 4.0 to 6.0 meters.

This cold spell in the northern provinces will last until around April 4, and from April 5, temperatures will begin to gradually increase, with cold conditions remaining only at night and in the morning.
