On March 17, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported that the Northeast region of Vietnam remains shrouded in drizzling rain and fog. The rainfall is expected to decrease, not as heavy or prolonged as the previous day, but the weather will continue to be overcast and humid.
In Hanoi, the humidity remains around 95%. The temperature difference between day and night has narrowed, fluctuating between 21-26 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the temperature in the Northwest provinces remains hot, with some areas experiencing temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. The weather in this region is dry, with sunny conditions expected around noon and afternoon.
Weather forecast from March 17 – March 23.
The meteorological agency has indicated that starting from the night of March 18, a cold front will move in, potentially bringing scattered showers to the northern region, while also causing a drop in temperature. At this point, the humid conditions will temporarily cease.
It is forecasted that on March 19, Hanoi will experience a significant drop in temperature, reaching between 18-20 degrees Celsius. The incoming cold air will also improve the weather, with the region likely experiencing dry cold for about three days.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the cold air will gradually weaken in intensity during the latter half of March 2024. Severe cold spells will only occur locally in the northern mountainous areas. Light rain and drizzle in the Northern region will continue to appear more frequently than the long-term average during this period.
Nationwide, the average temperature from now until early April will be higher than the long-term average by 1.0 – 1.5 degrees Celsius, with the Eastern Northeast and North Central regions being 0.5 – 1.0 degrees Celsius higher than the long-term average for the same period.
