The Meteorological Forecast Center reported that from the evening of July 28 to the evening of July 30, the North will enter a period of moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall in the mountainous and midland areas is expected to be between 50-150mm, with some places experiencing very heavy rain exceeding 250mm; in the lowland areas, rainfall is expected to be between 50-150mm, with some areas exceeding 150mm.
At the same time, North Central Coast, Central Highlands, and Southern regions will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized heavy rain, generally ranging from 15-30mm, and in some places exceeding 70mm. Rainfall will be concentrated in the afternoon and evening.
From the night of July 30 to 31, rain and thunderstorms will continue in the North, with some areas still experiencing very heavy rain. From the night of July 31, heavy rain in the Northern region is expected to gradually decrease.
The meteorological agency warns that residents should be cautious of the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying urban areas. Thunderstorms may be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds.
In Hanoi, the Accuweather website forecasts that the area will maintain cloudy weather with rain and thunderstorms throughout the first three days of next week. The common temperature will range from 26-30 degrees Celsius, with cool weather. The area is expected to see a temperature increase starting from August 1, but with only localized heat, reaching a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius.
