Nvidia Unveils the Nvidia nForce 590 SLI Processor
Nvidia has just announced the Nvidia nForce 590 SLI (MCP), a high-performance motherboard chipset designed for upcoming x86 PC platforms, particularly AMD’s AM2 socket chips.
Built on the latest technologies and features, the Nvidia nForce 590 SLI MCP can accelerate and achieve performance levels up to four times that of the Nvidia GeForce graphics processing unit (GPU), which is specifically designed for high-end gaming.
The new chipset includes several impressive features: a comprehensive overclocking solution; Nvidia FirstPacket networking technology; Nvidia LinkBoost technology, which automatically increases the PCIe bus speed on the motherboard when integrated GPUs with LinkBoost, such as the Nvidia GeForce 7900 GTX, are installed; SLI-Ready Memory, the first logic core solution capable of leveraging the new Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP) memory specification for significantly higher overclocking; Advanced Nvidia DualNet technology with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports; and extensive storage capacity supporting up to 6 SATA drives (3Gbps speed)…
Expected to be integrated into products from manufacturers such as Abit, Aopen, Asrock, ASUSTeK, BFG, Biostar, DFI, ECS, eVGA, Foxconn, Gigabyte, Jetway, MSI, and Shuttle, the Nvidia nForce 590 SLI chipset is set to enhance the performance of future PC builds.
