Yesterday (June 5), Nvidia introduced the dual-core graphics card line, the GeForce 7950 GX2.
By integrating two graphics chips (GPUs) on a single graphics card, users who utilize two GeForce 7950 GX2 cards—thanks to the “dual” graphics card feature—will achieve processing power equivalent to four graphics chips within the same system.
Nvidia asserts that their new graphics cards deliver 48 pixel pipelines, 16 shader units, a graphics system bandwidth of up to 76.8 Gbps, and a refresh rate processing capability of up to 24 billion pixels per second on a single card, with a maximum resolution reaching 2560 x 1600.
The GeForce 7950 GX2 features two DVI output connectors and integrates DDR-2 technology.
This new line of graphics cards is also labeled “HDCP-capable,” meaning that other components must also utilize HDCP technology.
The estimated retail price for this product ranges from $635 to $720.
