Instead of requiring multiple injections for each individual disease, the Pentaxim vaccine can protect against five diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, and poliomyelitis.
This vaccine is also suitable for children as young as two months to prevent combined infections such as meningitis, septicemia, and cellulitis.
Children will receive the first three doses starting from two months of age, with each dose administered 1-2 months apart. Booster shots will be given after one year.
The cost of vaccination is over 400,000 VND per dose. This vaccine is available at vaccination centers and facilities nationwide.
The Pentaxim vaccine is produced by Sanofi Pasteur.
