Make It Extreme, a YouTube channel run by two Greek engineers, recently shared their journey in creating a unique one-wheeled motorcycle, as reported by Design Boom on July 9. Instead of using an internal combustion engine, the design team created an electric vehicle with a single wheel. The manufacturing process was not overly complex, as they had mastered how to produce the necessary parts.
First, the designers constructed a massive metal frame. They shaped the frame into a perfect circular form, resembling a circus wheel. The result was a metal wheel with a diameter of 145 cm. The next step involved assembling the tire. Since tires of the required size were not available, the engineering team had to cut and repurpose three tires from a motorcycle and a go-kart. They connected these tires and mounted them around the metal wheel.
In reality, the wheel can propel forward and move thanks to two motors connected to the tire.
Following that, Make It Extreme proceeded with the chassis. They used three rolling axles and black plastic materials to enable the wheel to spin. They also sourced materials from the go-kart to operate the wheel made from motorcycle tires. In practice, the wheel can propel forward and move thanks to two motors attached to the tires. This setup provides excellent traction during rides and transmits power to the large wheel. The tires from the go-kart are made of non-slip materials. The motors operate efficiently thanks to two controllers that Make It Extreme connected to the throttle.
The arrangements allow the one-wheeled electric motorcycle to roll smoothly. According to Make It Extreme, although riding can be quite dangerous, it still offers a unique experience. Another feature that makes this one-wheeled electric motorcycle special is the torque of the system. The new model has a significantly stronger motor and operates faster than the previous smaller version.
