Sometimes, an item you use frequently has features you may not be aware of.
1. Food Storage Containers
When purchasing food storage containers, you often focus on their size, which is something anyone can estimate visually. However, there’s a way to know exactly how much the container can hold. The capacity specifications are clearly indicated on the bottom.
2. Batteries
Most of us have used batteries, but we often overlook the expiration date printed on the label. Before buying, check how long you can use them.
3. Ceiling Fans
Many people don’t realize that ceiling fans usually come with a small switch located on the fan itself. Since it’s not in plain sight, you may have never noticed it. This switch allows you to change the direction of the fan blades, enabling air to be pushed down or pulled up as desired.
4. Dishwashers
Always place cups, glasses, and bowls at an angle to allow water to drain out. When unloading the dishwasher, you’ll find that you don’t need to dry anything. Moreover, these appliances often come with small racks to keep your dishes securely in place.
5. Aluminum Foil
In addition to being a cleaning tool in the kitchen, aluminum foil can also help you sharpen scissors. Simply fold a sheet in half and make a few cuts. Remember that aluminum foil only helps to sharpen and cannot fix your scissors from being broken to functional.
6. Stainless Steel Faucets
What you may not know is that metal can effectively absorb odors. Stainless steel can help eliminate unpleasant smells if washed with soap and water. After cooking, if your hands still smell of garlic, fish, onions, or any other odor, simply rub your hands against the faucet, and the residual scents will disappear.
7. Water Coolers
If you have a water cooler at home, check to see if there’s a small compartment underneath. Many larger models come with a small refrigerator located beneath the water spigot, which can be used to store some beverages or canned goods.
