Pretec has unveiled a new i-Dish USB drive that allows users to combine biometric security with storage capabilities. The i-Dish boasts a storage capacity of up to 4GB and is regarded as the largest fingerprint recognition USB drive available.
The biometric security system allows installation for access by up to ten users. Additionally, it can enhance protection between the access device and personal data files, which can be encrypted to allow access via fingerprint recognition.
The i-Dish utilizes new fingerprint scanning technology and a single-chip solution to reduce costs, increase storage capacity, and minimize the size of the biometric fingerprint scan on the device.
In addition to fingerprint recognition security, the device also integrates password protection features. It can also be used to lock computer usage rights or restrict users from accessing selected websites and software. Currently, Pretec has not disclosed any information regarding pricing or the release date for the market.
