Experts say this phenomenon is known as Parhelion or “mock suns,” which occurs when sunlight is refracted through ice crystals in the atmosphere, creating the illusion of multiple suns.
The Vice President of the Sichuan Amateur Astronomy Association believes that the recent sighting may be an optical illusion caused by light refracting through different layers of air.
SkyBrary describes Parhelion as one of the strangest atmospheric phenomena.
