A spectacular natural phenomenon was captured in Chongqing, China on May 5th, as a sea of clouds cascaded down the mountains like a waterfall.
This phenomenon is referred to by locals as “cloud waterfall” or “waterfall of clouds”.
The video capturing this phenomenon shows white clouds rapidly moving down the mountainside, creating a flowing white stream resembling a waterfall. This phenomenon, known as “cloud waterfall” or “waterfall of clouds”, occurs when clouds descend from high altitudes to lower elevations, creating a visual effect similar to water pouring down.
The formation of these cloud waterfalls requires a combination of several factors, including topography, temperature differences, elevation, and air currents. When warm, moist air rises from the valley, it encounters cooler air at higher altitudes, causing the moisture to condense into clouds. These clouds then flow down the mountainside, creating a waterfall-like spectacle.
Cloud waterfalls are quite rare meteorological phenomena, occurring only in areas with special topography and suitable weather conditions. Therefore, witnessing this sight is an incredibly fortunate and memorable experience.
