While observing the rare total solar eclipse, a number of people in the United States spotted an unusual object gliding across the sky before disappearing behind the clouds. Videos of this object quickly circulated online, with many speculating that it was a flying saucer.
Millions (or possibly tens of millions) of people in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada—along with tourists from other regions—witnessed the remarkable total solar eclipse early yesterday morning, April 9 (Vietnam time). Almost immediately, numerous images and videos of the eclipse surfaced on social media.
Among these, one video gained attention not for capturing the moment the sun was obscured, but rather for showing a mysterious object flying across the sky just as it began to darken, before vanishing behind the clouds. This incident was observed in Arlington, Texas.

According to Mr. Wallace, the individual who filmed the video, others watching the eclipse with him also saw the object suddenly appear and then just as suddenly disappear, leaving them all astonished.
The newly posted video has already garnered nearly 22 million views and close to 15,000 shares. Numerous theories have emerged, ranging from it being a UFO to an optical illusion caused by the lighting during the eclipse.

However, some have explained that it is likely the shadow of an airplane projected onto the clouds while the aircraft was flying at a higher altitude; similar phenomena have been recorded in aviation before. The shadow of the airplane would disappear as it moved into clearer air.
Aerospace agencies have yet to confirm the identity of the mysterious object, but according to data from the National UFO Reporting Center—a nonprofit organization in the U.S.—reports of UFO sightings have increased across the country in recent months.
