Accidentally Deleted Files? Here’s How File Scavenger Can Help
Have you accidentally deleted some files from your computer? Don’t worry! File Scavenger is a tool designed to help you recover lost data. Typically, deleted files are stored automatically in the Recycle Bin by Windows.
However, in many cases—such as when you delete files directly or need information about a document you deleted in the past—this program assists you in searching for all recoverable files on your hard drive. It provides details about the folder containing the files, their sizes, and their current status (good – can be recovered and function well, poor – difficult to recover and may not be complete if recovered). The program features a Restore To function that allows you to copy all the files you want to recover to a specified folder.
One notable aspect of File Scavenger is its efficient operation on computer systems using RAID, an advanced technology that enhances the performance of SATA hard drives. It supports various file systems, including NTFS and FAT 32/16/12. With a compact size of about 900K, you can easily install the program on a floppy disk, and it is compatible with other storage media (excluding tape drives).
The program’s website outlines several data loss scenarios where you can utilize this tool for recovery. These include accidentally deleted files, files on a damaged hard drive (that can still be recognized), deleted or newly formatted disk partitions, and hard drives with bad sectors. However, we have not had the opportunity to test all of these cases.
The program interface is user-friendly, and advanced features can be leveraged if you have knowledge of hardware technologies, particularly those related to hard drives. If not, the program also defaults to basic features for ease of use.
