The victim is Pham Lam Hao, a 22-year-old resident of 272 Phan Dinh Phung, Pleiku City (Gia Lai). Hao was admitted to Military Hospital 211 at 11:45 PM on July 20.
Upon admission, the victim was found to have a Thai knife embedded in his head. He was experiencing significant blood loss and was in a coma.
X-ray results indicated that the stab wound (to the right temple) was 5 cm deep, penetrating over 3 cm into the brain. The patient underwent immediate surgery, and after more than two hours, the knife was safely removed from his head.
Dr. Vo Van Khoi, Head of the Intensive Care and Emergency Department at Military Hospital 211, stated that this is one of the rare cases that can be saved successfully.
As of 4 PM on July 22, Pham Lam Hao has stabilized and is no longer in critical condition.
