According to news from the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee, on July 21, an expert team specializing in wind energy from the European Union (EU), led by Mr. Per Nogaard from Denmark, will visit Ly Son Island to study and assess the potential for wind energy on this island off the coast of Quang Ngai Province.
This visit is in response to a request from the Institute of Energy under the Vietnam Electricity Corporation.
It is known that Vietnam is one of three countries involved in the project “Feasibility Assessment and Capacity Building for Wind Energy Development in the Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia”, funded by the EU.
Ly Son Island has been selected as one of the sites for assessing wind energy potential within the scope of the project.
If implemented, this project would be of great significance for the development of Ly Son Island, addressing the urgent electricity needs of the local population. This is also the third delegation to survey and seek solutions for electricity supply to Ly Son Island.
