Russian designers have successfully developed a unique “super” air-cushion all-terrain vehicle capable of operating in extremely harsh conditions at -60 degrees Celsius.
The vehicle, named Arctica, can carry weights ranging from 1 to 5 tons. It runs on diesel fuel and features an independent heating system along with a compact generator. Additionally, Arctica is equipped with navigation systems, night vision equipment, and satellite orientation tools.
Arctica All-Terrain Vehicle
Arctica combines all the advantages of its predecessors, ensuring high durability and the ability to operate for extended periods in severe weather conditions. The vehicle can traverse swamps, snowy forests, and is capable of running on ice and tundra.
Arctica can operate normally at -60 degrees Celsius
This vehicle is the ideal mode of transportation for the Arctic and Far East regions, where temperatures can be extremely low. In designing the air-cushion system for the vehicle, engineers focused on these characteristics to ensure the heating system is adaptable.
Many oil companies are eyeing the Arctica for its ability to navigate any terrain, especially in resource-rich but harsh Arctic regions
Currently, the Arctica vehicle is attracting attention from oil companies as well as the armed forces of Russia. Additionally, many countries around the world, including India and the United Arab Emirates, are also showing significant interest in the Arctica.
Arctica was designed and manufactured by the company SibVPKneftegaz, which is one of the defense industry enterprises in Russia.
