SARS-CoV-2 Virus spreads directly from person to person primarily through respiratory droplets and contact transmission.
Specifically, it spreads through contact with saliva droplets from a person who coughs, sneezes, or has a runny nose into the respiratory tract; it can be transmitted when in contact with an infected person, such as shaking hands without practicing preventive measures like washing hands with soap; and it can also be transmitted from contaminated surfaces.
A new variant has shown strong airborne transmission capabilities in enclosed environments with air conditioning. 36 hours after exposure to the pathogen, a person can test positive, and there have been cases where individuals transmitted the virus to others two days after exposure.
To combat the outbreak, the Ministry of Health recommends that the public strictly adhere to the 5K message: Mask-Washing hands-Social distancing-No large gatherings and Health declaration, with particular attention to ensuring good ventilation.
