From the center of Đắk Na commune (Tu Mơ Rông district, Kon Tum province), travelers will pass through terraced rice fields, winding rocky streams, and a winding road amidst vast pine forests and lush green grasslands, where the sound of rushing water can be heard.
This is the sound of water cascading from the Siu Puông Waterfall, located between the Ngọc Kal and Ngọc Pâng mountain ranges, approximately 89 km from Kon Tum City.
Situated at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level, Siu Puông Waterfall is one of the tallest waterfalls in Vietnam. The water originates from the peak of Ngọc Linh Mountain.
The waterfall stretches about 240 meters long but does not cascade in a single stream like many other waterfalls in the Central Highlands. Instead, Siu Puông flows in a unique zigzag pattern with seven tiers.

The highest tier of the waterfall stands at 60 meters. The next four tiers are each about 40 meters high, while the remaining two shorter tiers are approximately 10 meters high.
Depending on the water flow, the width of the waterfall varies with each season. During the rainy season, when water levels are abundant, the waterfall can widen up to 30 meters.
From a distance, the waterfall looks like a soft, white silk ribbon gracefully winding amidst the lush greenery of the mountains.
Originating from high mountains and flowing through expansive forests, Siu Puông’s water is clear and cool year-round. Beneath each tier of the waterfall are beautiful, crystal-clear natural pools.
Not only does Siu Puông possess pristine and majestic beauty, but it is also considered a sacred place by the local Xơ Đăng people. The Xơ Đăng community regards the water from the waterfall as holy water.

They use the waterfall’s water for daily activities. However, the community strictly avoids actions that are seen as polluting the water, such as washing clothes, bathing directly at the water source, or carrying deceased individuals across the water.
Currently, Siu Puông Waterfall attracts many tourists seeking exploration and experience. The ideal time to fully appreciate the beauty of this waterfall is around October.
