Rare Mutant Lotus Flowers Captivating Flower Enthusiasts
Recently, Nguyễn Thị Nhung from Hoàn Kiếm District, Hanoi, purchased a bouquet of white lotuses with pink edges, feeling immensely satisfied and eager to showcase her unique bouquet of “Bách Diệp Liên” (Hundred Leaves Lotus) to everyone.

“Amidst the ordinary lotuses, finding a true bouquet is already difficult, and discovering the ‘Bách Diệp Liên’ is even harder. Yet this morning, I managed to ‘catch’ this rare mutant lotus – a double-petaled white lotus with pink edges, extremely rare,” Nhung shared.

A seller specializing in mutant lotus flowers in Hanoi stated that this type of flower is incredibly “hot.” “Yesterday, I went to the lotus garden and managed to gather nearly 200 blooms. I posted pictures of the flowers on Facebook for sale, and just a few hours later, they were all gone. Even now, I keep receiving calls from people asking if I have any left, but I don’t,” the seller revealed.
Currently, mutant lotus flowers are sold for around 10,000 – 20,000 VND (approximately $0.40 – $0.80) per flower. Customers typically buy at least 10 flowers at a time.
Vân Anh from Tây Hồ, Hanoi, remarked: “Usually, people buy about 20 – 30 flowers at once. Some even immediately order 40 – 50 flowers as soon as I post them for sale. These flowers are so mesmerizing that customers love to arrange dozens of them to enjoy their beauty.”
She noted that at this time, due to the new season, mutant lotuses are still scarce, with only a few vendors offering them and just 1 – 2 color varieties available. During the peak season, around the 7th lunar month, this type of flower will be more abundant.

“There are many types of mutant lotuses, which are categorized into names like Super Lotus; Rosy Lotus; Green Apple Lotus; Blue Cloud Lotus; New Lanceolate Lotus; Pink Hundred Leaves Lotus; Versicolor Lotus… Each type features different colors and characteristics, but they are all very beautiful and eye-catching,” she explained.
