This site is known as the Governor’s Palace in Go Cong or the Go Cong Chief Administrator’s Mansion. Previously, the Governor’s Palace was one of the largest government offices in Go Cong. Constructed by the French in 1885, it was once regarded as one of the most grandiose and imposing buildings in Southern Vietnam at that time.

With a usable area of up to 1,400m2, the Governor’s Palace in Go Cong is set within a spacious compound surrounded by lush greenery. The building impresses with its classic design, featuring striking yellow walls complemented by beautiful green window frames.
All materials were imported from France, built on the foundation of a grand and authoritative architecture, marking the first significant investment in the southern provinces of Vietnam.

Many of the once-vibrant yellow walls are now peeling, revealing bricks in some areas, while the green window frames have lost their luster, overtaken by wild vines on the balcony corners. The silent steps, facing a door that remains closed, add to the desolate atmosphere enveloping the building.
Visitors can only stroll around and admire the remnants of beauty from outside the structure, as entry into the mansion is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
