A king cobra has swallowed a python right before the eyes of residents in Karadapa village.
This horrifying scene was recorded on January 17, in Karadapa village near the Satkosia Reserve, Angul district, India.
In the clip, a 3.4-meter-long king cobra is seen swallowing a 1.2-meter-long python. Afterwards, the cobra slithered into a local’s kitchen, causing panic among many people.
Shortly after, forestry officials arrived at the scene. After rescuing the snake, they took it to the forestry office and then released it back into the wild. However, the king cobra regurgitated its meal before leaving.

The king cobra belongs to the Elapidae family (cobra family), primarily found in tropical forest regions, ranging from India to Southeast Asia. It is the longest venomous snake in the world, with a maximum recorded length in the wild of 7 meters.
Each bite from a king cobra can deliver up to 7ml of venom, and this species tends to strike with 3-4 bites. A single bite can kill a person within 15 minutes and can take down an adult elephant in just a few hours.
King cobras frequently prey on other snake species, including both venomous and non-venomous snakes. Some snake species, including king cobras, may eat their own kind when competing for food or territory.
