Sprains are acute injuries to the tendons, primarily affecting ligaments, tendon sheaths, and joint capsules, leading to swelling, pain, and significant tenderness at the injury site. Mobility is hindered, and the function of the tendons is affected. The most severe tendon injury is a complete rupture, resulting in total loss of function and pronounced swelling and pain, requiring hospitalization.
When experiencing a sprain, it is essential to immobilize the joint and then apply the following remedies:
40 g of turmeric, 40 leaves of Vietnamese coriander, both crushed and mixed with 30 ml of alcohol, heated until boiling, then applied to the swollen area, once or twice a day.
40 g of turmeric, 40 g of mugwort leaves, both crushed and mixed with 30 ml of white rice wine and 30 ml of vinegar, heated, then applied to the swollen area, once or twice a day.
Use 1-3 types of leaves: vine leaves, Vietnamese coriander, mugwort leaves, Frangipani leaves, or castor oil leaves. Crush them, mix with vinegar or alcohol, heat, and apply to the swollen area, twice a day.
1-2 Frangipani leaves should be heated over a flame until cooked, then applied to the swollen area. When cool, reheat and reapply, doing this 2-3 times a day until recovery.
