prevent AIDS. This is a type of cream that contains special molecules capable of preventing the spread of the HIV virus. Women can use this cream to avoid contracting HIV, even if their partner is infected.
Mr. Tim Farley, a representative from the World Health Organization, stated: “This product will stop viruses from entering cells and multiplying, causing damage. This topical cream is easy to use and does not require cooperation or consent from a partner; it is even safer than using condoms.”
This special medication is called PSC-Rante, which has been researched and developed over the past seven years and tested on monkeys at a laboratory in Louisiana, USA, with promising results. Scientists plan to begin human trials in the near future. The primary target group for this medication is women in Africa.
According to a report from UNAIDS, more than 60% of people in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa are living with the HIV virus. The rate of HIV/AIDS infection in this area is also increasing at an alarming rate. In just 2005, Africa witnessed nearly 4 million new cases of HIV infection.
