(khoahoc.tv) – A new invention by a student will help you toast bread automatically according to the desired color of the toast, rather than relying on time as before.
A toaster that can toast bread to the precise color you want has been invented by a student. The smart toaster “Hue” was designed by 21-year-old Basheer Tome.
The new toaster features slots equipped with sensors to ensure that the bread inside never gets burnt.
When bread is placed in the toaster, an electronic display on the device shows the color of the bread slice.
A circular touchscreen provides users with different shades of brown, allowing them to choose the desired toast color and even see what it will look like when cooked.
The toaster has a series of color sensors inside that check both sides of the bread, and the toasting mechanism will continue until the bread reaches the exact requested color.
Although the toaster is currently just a design concept, Basheer hopes manufacturers will soon come knocking on his door to discuss mass production of the toaster.
Several prototypes made from cardboard have been tested. The final version is constructed from aluminum, steel, and double-paned glass.
Basheer, who invented the toaster at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA, said: “The project started as a task to make toasters easier to use.”
“I discovered that a transparent toaster was actually a popular idea on the internet, but it was never created due to many practical issues.”
This was because people lacked trust in their toasters, as they could not see what was happening inside.
Most toasters rely on timing measures, but with very little consistency between brands, models, and different types of toasters, this makes achieving the desired toast color difficult.
This inconsistency inspired young Basheer Tome to come up with the idea for a toaster based on the color of the bread.
