Many golfers flocked to take pictures, hoping to encounter the “super divine beast”.
A few days ago, a rare guest appeared near a golf course in Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan—a rare white deer. This creature is regarded as a “symbol of luck”, appearing gracefully with its striking and ethereal appearance.
The white deer is considered a divine beast due to its distinctive and striking fur.
Its snow-white body attracted the attention of everyone at the golf course. Many golfers rushed to take photos, hoping to receive good fortune by encountering the “super divine beast.”
According to reports from Japanese media, from a distance, this creature, which resembles a wolf, is actually an extremely rare species of deer. As soon as news about the white deer was made public, it drew significant public interest.
Most people believe that the appearance of the white deer is reminiscent of a legendary divine beast, much like the character design in the famous animated film “The Magic Princess.” Folklore suggests that simply seeing such a divine beast will bring good luck.
Yoshio Yamada, the president of the golf club, mentioned that the white deer had been spotted when it was still a fawn. Two years ago, he had the chance to see it but thought it would change to a brown color like its parents as it grew older. To his surprise, the deer was born with white fur and, remarkably, it survived due to its exceptionally striking and unique coloration. Being regarded as a “symbol of luck,” the golfers were thrilled to see it that day.
Later, Yuta Kuribayashi, the director of the Omachi Mountain Museum, also shared his thoughts upon viewing images of the rare white deer. He stated that the white fur of the deer is influenced by genetics and other factors. It is fortunate to have been accepted by its peers, allowing it to grow up successfully. People who encounter the white deer or any other deer should not approach too closely, as deer can become aggressive when provoked.
