The Lusail Stadium, constructed by Daido Steel Corporation in Qatar, will host the opening and final matches of the 2022 World Cup.
In 2019, Daido Steel Corporation became a source of pride for Vietnamese enterprises when it won the bid for the construction of the Lusail Stadium for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Specifically, Daido Mechanical Construction Trading Joint Stock Company (or Daido Steel) secured a contract for structural steel equipment worth 80 million USD for the Lusail and Ras Abu stadiums.
Specifically, the Lusail Stadium will host the opening and final matches of the 2022 World Cup with a seating capacity of over 80,000. After the world’s largest football festival concludes, Qatar plans to transform the Lusail Stadium into a complex that includes schools, hospitals, sports facilities, and commercial areas. This is a very unique project as it is built on water and cooled by solar panels.
Daido Steel is the first Vietnamese enterprise to provide equipment and construction services for the 2022 World Cup. This company operates in the construction and steel structure sector, headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, with branches and representative offices in the UK, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Cambodia, and has a factory covering over 100 hectares.
This company has also completed many major projects that have made headlines in countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, and Cambodia.
The 2022 World Cup features 32 national football teams, including the host nation, Qatar.
This is the second time the World Cup has been held in Asia (after the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea).
This is the first time the World Cup has been hosted in a Middle Eastern country and also the first time in an Arab League nation. Qatar is the third Asian country to host the World Cup.
