On the evening of July 31, a large number of locals and tourists gathered at the beach in Nhơn Hải Commune, Quy Nhơn City, Bình Định Province to witness the hatching of sea turtles and their journey back to the ocean.
At around 7 PM, in the protected area of the turtle egg hatchery at Mũi Cồn Beach (Hải Đông Hamlet, Nhơn Hải Commune), many tiny sea turtles emerged from the sand and began to crawl around the protected zone.
Nguyễn Tôn Xuân Sáng, a member of the community organization for the protection of aquatic resources in Nhơn Hải, stated that this was the third nest being monitored and hatched.
According to Sáng, the third turtle nest contained 99 eggs, of which 24 turtles have hatched so far, with more expected to follow. The Nhơn Hải community organization is continuing to monitor the situation. After inspection, the team assisted in releasing the hatchlings back into the sea.

Despite the darkness, many locals and tourists were present to observe the event, showing great excitement as they witnessed the tiny newly hatched turtles emerging from the sand and making their way to the sea.
Also in July, two other turtle nests were successfully hatched, and the hatchlings were released into the ocean by the community organization for the protection of aquatic resources in Nhơn Hải.

Previously, a sea turtle measuring 0.94 meters in length, 0.86 meters in width, and weighing over 90 kg came ashore at Nhơn Hải Commune to lay eggs. This turtle came ashore three times in June to lay more eggs.
According to the community organization for the protection of aquatic resources in Nhơn Hải, the mother turtle laid a total of approximately 400 eggs, all of which were relocated to a designated protected area on Mũi Cồn Beach, Hải Đông Hamlet for hatching.
On the night of July 31, Đỗ Cao Thắng, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nhơn Hải Commune, Quy Nhơn City, informed Tiền Phong that another mother turtle was also coming ashore to lay eggs.
According to the local government, this is a joyful event and a testament to the efforts of the community and authorities in protecting sea turtles.
Typically, from May to the end of September is the period when turtles come ashore to find nesting sites, primarily the Green Turtle (also known as Loggerhead), which local fishermen refer to as “Đú.”
