Two Java pangolins rescued by authorities have given birth at the Vinpearl River Safari Animal Rescue Center in Nam Hội An.
The Vinpearl River Safari Animal Rescue Center (VinWonders Nam Hội An) announced that these two pangolins were received from the Nam Giang District Police (August 2022) and the Tiên Phước District Forestry Protection Department (December 2023). Both were cared for and gave birth at the end of January 2023 and mid-May 2024, respectively.

At the time of their rescue, both pangolins were in poor health due to being trapped and trafficked under harsh conditions. The center’s veterinarians treated their wounds and assessed their nutritional status. Their diet was adjusted to meet their nutritional needs, including various insects and necessary supplements.
The two pangolins were then provided with a habitat that simulates their natural environment, featuring soil, vegetation, and hiding spots to ensure they feel safe and comfortable. The care team continuously monitors their well-being and conducts regular health checks.
The Vinpearl River Safari Animal Rescue Center indicated that after caring for the baby pangolins, they will collaborate with relevant authorities in Quảng Nam Province to release the two mother and baby pangolin pairs back into their natural habitat.
