Your chronological age does not always reflect your biological age. Many young people can be as weak as the elderly, while some seniors maintain a vitality akin to that of someone in their twenties. Calculate your biological age using the tests below suggested by Bright Side.
Heart
Measure your heart rate while standing, then perform 20 fast sit-ups and check how much your heart rate has increased.
- Increase of up to 10 beats: Your heart is 20 years old.
- 10-20 beats: 30 years old.
- 20-30 beats: 40 years old.
- 30-40 beats: 50 years old.
- Over 40 beats: Your heart is 60 years old.
- Unable to complete: 70 years old.
Nervous System
Have someone hold a 50 cm ruler vertically with their thumb and index finger at the 50 cm mark. Place your hand about 10 cm below the ruler. Ask the other person to drop the ruler and try to catch it with your thumb and index finger. At what mark did your hand touch?
- 20 cm: Your nervous system is 20 years old.
- 25 cm: 30 years old.
- 35 cm: 40 years old.
- 45 cm: 60 years old.

Vestibular System
Close your eyes and stand on one leg, lifting the other about 20 cm off the ground. How long can you hold this position?
- 30 seconds or more: Your vestibular system is 20 years old.
- 20 seconds: 40 years old.
- 15 seconds: 50 years old.
- Less than 10 seconds: 60 years old or older.
Blood Vessels
Pinch the skin on the back of your hand with your thumb and index finger. A white spot will appear; count how long it takes for that area to regain its color.
- Less than 5 seconds: Your blood vessels are 30 years old.
- 8 seconds: 40 years old.
- 10 seconds: 50 years old.
- 15 seconds: 60 years old.
- More than 15 seconds: 70 years old.
Joints
Reach your hands behind your back and interlock your fingers.
- If you can do this easily: Your joints are 20 years old.
- Fingertips barely touch: 30 years old.
- Very difficult to bring your hands together: 60 years old.
- Unable to bring your hands together: Older than 60.
Respiratory System
Light a candle and see how far you can blow it out with one breath.
- 1 meter: Your lungs are 20 years old.
- 80-90 cm: 30 years old.
- 70-80 cm: 40 years old.
- 60-70 cm: 50 years old.
- 50-60 cm: 60 years old.
- Less than 50 cm: 70 years old and older.
After completing all the above sections, add up your scores and divide by the number of tests you performed. The result is your biological age.
