On November 27, the Department of Animal Health reported that on November 25 and 26, outbreaks of avian influenza occurred in three poultry farms across three communes in the districts of Trieu Son, Hau Loc, and Thanh Hoa City, resulting in the deaths of 7 chickens and 360 waterfowl. The total number of poultry culled reached 81 chickens and 1,479 ducks and geese.

As of now, Thanh Hoa has reported outbreaks in 12 districts and 34 communes. Although Hai Duong has not detected any new outbreaks, local authorities continued to cull 14,503 waterfowl on November 25 in accordance with Official Dispatch No. 1166/CĐ-UBND dated November 19, 2005, from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
In addition to new outbreak points in some localities, over the past 12 days, provinces such as Hung Yen, Phu Tho, Cao Bang, Thai Binh, Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc, and Long An have not reported any new outbreaks. Bac Giang, the first province to report an outbreak this winter, has not seen any new cases for 11 days.
From October 1, 2005, to date, the total number of culled poultry has reached 1,332,209 (including poultry culled in urban areas), consisting of 539,882 chickens, 588,288 ducks, and 204,039 quails and other species.
As of November 27, vaccination campaigns have been implemented across 63 provinces and cities, with 23 of these provinces and cities having administered the second dose, including: Hanoi, Ha Tay, Vinh Phuc, Hai Phong, Quang Nam, Lam Dong, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan, Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Can Tho, Ca Mau, Ben Tre, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, Vinh Long, Hau Giang, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, and Quang Ninh.
Currently, there are 169 communes and wards in 65 districts, towns, and cities across 17 provinces and municipalities that have reported outbreaks within the last 21 days: Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Cao Bang, Hai Duong, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Son La, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Vinh Phuc, Long An, Quang Ninh, and Nghe An.
