The entire structure consists of three interwoven undulating glass bridges, giving visitors the sensation of walking amidst a rainbow in the sky.
Zhejiang is one of the wealthiest provinces in China and a renowned tourist destination famous for its picturesque landscapes of mountains and rivers in the Jiangnan region. Recently, another unique structure in Zhejiang has captured the attention of the Chinese online community due to its innovative design that seems almost like a product of artificial intelligence.
This is the Nhu Y Glass Bridge, “floating” between two cliffs at a height of 140 meters, located in the scenic area of Shentianju in Taizhou city (Zhejiang province).
This bridge was inaugurated in 2017 and opened to local tourists in 2020. The entire structure comprises three interwoven undulating bridges, resembling three waves intersecting in the canyon.
The bridge is primarily designed with transparent tempered glass, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the view of the Shentianju valley and creating the sensation of walking amidst a rainbow in the sky.
Standing on the bridge, visitors can see the majestic mountains, enveloped in mist, and lush greenery, truly experiencing a paradise-like atmosphere. Looking down, one can only see sheer cliffs, resembling a bottomless abyss, creating an exhilarating thrill for those who seek adventure.
The designer of this unique glass bridge is Ha Van Xuong, a steel structure expert who was involved in the design of the Bird’s Nest Stadium, where the 2008 Beijing Olympics were held.
The construction of the bridge faced many challenges due to the terrain and weather conditions in the area. The construction team had to contend with strong winds, heavy rain, and landslides. However, they overcame these difficulties and completed the bridge on schedule.
