Vietnam Continues to Hold a High Position in the Global Rice Export Ranking with Expected Production of 43 Million Tons in 2024.
Southeast Asia is home to four countries among the top ten rice-exporting nations in the world. In this list, Thailand ranks second with 16.5 million tons, followed by Vietnam in third place with 7.6 million tons.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported that the country’s rice production is expected to reach 43 million tons this year. This production volume will ensure that domestic consumption and export needs exceed 8 million tons.
