According to a report by researchers from the University of Bremen, Germany, the distance between Earth and the Sun increases by approximately 10 meters every 100 years.
Dr. Claus Lammerzahl from the Bremen Institute of Space Research stated that this result is based on calculations from various research teams that have utilized observational data of the solar system’s planets and stars collected over the past 120 years.
The increase in distance between Earth and the Sun cannot be explained by conventional methods or gravitational theory.
Scientists assess that the increase in this distance is negligible compared to the vastness of space, so it will not have any impact on Earth’s climate.
Dr. Lammerzahl’s report also mentioned that the “Pioneer Anomaly” phenomenon remains unexplained to this day.
This phenomenon was recognized in the 1970s when the two spacecraft, Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11, launched by NASA from Earth, encountered strange forces at the edge of the solar system.
The scientific report was presented at the 70th German Physics Conference held in Munich from March 20 to 24, 2006.
