Spanish performance artist Alicia Framis is set to become the first woman in the world to marry a 3D image created by AI.
Specifically, the 57-year-old woman named Alicia Framis is preparing to wed a 3D technology image called AILex, which has been created with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. While this may seem unusual, it marks an important milestone in exploring the relationship between humans and AI.

AI partners are chatbots that provide companionship and communication similar to human relationships, but they are virtual. In Framis’s case, she has envisioned an AI boyfriend that features an extremely advanced 3D image.
Technology experts note that Alicia Framis marrying a 3D AI image clearly reflects a romantic relationship between humans and artificial intelligence (AI). While experts suggest that robots and humans will soon become companions, Framis believes that the next important step is establishing an emotional connection between humans and AI. Initially, Framis feels that the 3D AI image is closer to her emotions than a robot would be.
The grand wedding event is scheduled to take place at the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen museum in Rotterdam at the end of this summer. It is part of Framis’s project “The Hybrid Couple,” where she aims to experiment with the boundaries of love, intimacy, and identity in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).
While some view this as a step too far, the reality is that romantic relationships with AI are on the rise globally, with individuals turning to AI chatbots for companionship and emotional support in their romantic lives.
Alicia Framis stated: “Love for robots and 3D AI images is an unavoidable reality. They are wonderful companions capable of expressing empathy. Just as phones have saved us from loneliness and filled the gaps in modern life, 3D AI images will bring about similar exciting experiences, perhaps even more.”
