The emergence of ancient giants has excited the archaeological and scientific community. These discoveries provide us with a deeper understanding of history, but they also leave some people feeling anxious and unsettled.
In the mythology, legends, and historical records of many countries around the world, besides the great flood, there is another term that frequently appears: “giants.” The concept of giants has existed in human history for thousands of years, and they are often described as large humanoid creatures with robust bodies and extraordinary strength.
Although giants are typically regarded as mythical beings, modern archaeological discoveries have indicated that the origins of prehistoric giant legends are not entirely baseless. Before delving into today’s topic, it is important to clarify that the content on this matter has not been proven or accepted by the majority of the scientific community, thus it should be regarded merely as a story.
In Chinese mythology and legends, giants play an extremely important role. The most famous giant among them is certainly Pangu, who is considered the god who created the world.

Besides Pangu, there are several other prominent giant figures in Chinese mythology. One of them is Xing Tian, a mighty giant warrior known for his indomitable spirit and immense strength. Kua Fu is also described as an arrogant giant, with legends stating that he chased after the Sun but ultimately died of exhaustion from running too long.
In addition to the legends of giants in China, there are also legends of giants in ancient Greece and Rome. According to mythology, the Earth goddess Gaia gave birth to a family of Titans, who are legendary giants that are tall, fierce, and fearsome. Thus, the Titans naturally evoke fear among humans.

These giants in mythology and fairy tales are often considered mythical creatures and have little connection to actual giants. However, modern archaeological discoveries show that the legends of prehistoric giants are not entirely without basis.
Unusually tall human skeletons have been found at archaeological sites around the world, their size and shape reminiscent of prehistoric giant myths and legends. In the 1970s, some archaeologists accidentally discovered giant-related remains during excavation in Shandong, China. All these remains were of extremely large size, with an average height exceeding 1.9 meters (far surpassing the average height of ancient people).
This indicates a potential connection between humans and the giants in Shandong over 5,000 years ago that cannot be overlooked. Notably, the tallest skeleton among these remains was even over two meters, while the shortest was only 1.7 meters—a height that can be considered quite tall given the relatively harsh living conditions of ancient times.

It is worth noting that while there are individuals over two meters tall in modern society, they are a minority and cannot form an independent race. However, these remains indicate that there were indeed many ancient “giants,” leading archaeologists to conclude, after in-depth research, that these giants truly existed.
In addition to discoveries in China, there are also some mysterious findings, such as a cave named Chuifa Cave, located 35 km southwest of the town of Chuifa in Nevada, USA. This place holds a legend related to the Yuanlongte Native Americans. Long ago, they were threatened by a type of red-haired giant, who was tall and fierce. After years of fighting, they eventually succeeded in driving the giants away.
However, this legend is not widely believed. Until 1911, some miners went to Chuifa Cave to dig for bird droppings and unexpectedly discovered a large mummy. The mummy stood 2.2 meters tall and had red hair. It was subsequently collected by the Humport Museum in Nevada. This discovery attracted widespread attention.

Additionally, remains of some tall prehistoric humans have also been found in Europe. At the Lascaux cave in France, archaeologists discovered a skeleton measuring 3.4 meters. This discovery shocked the entire archaeological community, as such stature is extremely rare among prehistoric people.
Similarly, some giant skeletons measuring up to 2.7 meters have also been found at Stonehenge in England. These discoveries have triggered extensive research and discussion. Furthermore, there have been new discoveries about ancient giants in the Americas. There is a mysterious pyramid in Peru, where an unexpected event led archaeologists to uncover traces of ancient giants. In three ancient tombs within the pyramid, archaeologists found three different remains. Upon measurement, each skeleton was over 3 meters tall. This discovery sent shockwaves around the world.
The legends and myths of prehistoric giants are not entirely meaningless. (Illustration).
Similar discoveries have also been made in a valley in Turkey, where traces of ancient human life were found. On the walls surrounding this area, archaeologists uncovered hieroglyphs used by ancient people to record events and communicate.
When archaeologists demolished these walls, they were astonished to find two mummies. One of the mummies was a woman quietly holding a child. Remarkably, this woman’s height was not that of an ordinary modern woman but that of a tall ancient giant.
These archaeological discoveries suggest that the legends and myths of prehistoric giants are not entirely meaningless. The emergence of ancient giants has excited the archaeological and scientific community. These discoveries offer us the opportunity for a deeper understanding of history but also leave some individuals feeling anxious and unsettled. If ancient giants truly existed, it would pose a serious challenge to Darwin’s theory of evolution.
We will not know for sure whether prehistoric giants existed. (Illustration).
According to the theory of evolution, the common ancestor of humans is a primitive primate, and the human capacity for early thought is a result of natural selection and evolution. Now, we seem to have found beings with human-like intelligence from early times—the ancient giants. Whether through hieroglyphs or human hair, these findings suggest that ancient giants possessed the cognitive abilities of primitive humans.
This is undoubtedly the greatest challenge to the theory of evolution. However, these discoveries are not widely accepted. Some scientists believe that the remains could belong to other animal species or be the result of abnormal human development.
Although some legends describe giants, these accounts are still insufficient to prove the existence of giants. These descriptions may merely represent folk artistic images rather than factual historical truth.
We will not know for certain whether prehistoric giants existed until more research and scientific evidence emerge. Therefore, the truth about prehistoric giants remains a mystery.
