The video was recorded on September 21, in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, China.
Ms. Huang, the person who recorded the clip, mentioned that the fish jumping onto the shore appeared to be mullet and flathead fish, along with other types she couldn’t identify. “Seeing this, I really wanted to grab a bucket and catch some,” Ms. Huang expressed her excitement.
Regarding the reason behind this unusual phenomenon, she, along with many others, remains puzzled.
On September 22, staff from the Nanao County Tourism Center stated that this phenomenon could be due to natural causes. The theory suggesting human intervention was quickly dismissed.
Weather officials from Nanao County clarified that the fish jumping on the beach likely has nothing to do with the weather. They added that although higher temperatures were recorded last week, no unusual phenomena occurred.
The Shantou Earthquake Bureau also ruled out any correlation between this phenomenon and seismic activity, affirming that after analysis by experts from the provincial seismic office, all seismic activities and geophysical observations were within normal ranges.
Currently, relevant agencies are conducting monitoring and further investigation into this mysterious incident.
