A Man Nearly Loses His Life After Foolishly Kissing a Cobra.
The incident took place in Bhadravati, Karnataka, India.
A man bends down to kiss a cobra.
Specifically, after spotting a cobra, local residents called in a snake charmer to help. Upon arriving at the scene, a man named Sonu found the snake lying under a rock on the sidewalk. Overconfident in his snake-handling abilities, he foolishly decided to tease the creature. When Sonu attempted to kiss the cobra, it unexpectedly bit him on the face, causing significant bleeding.
This man was subsequently rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Doctors reported that Sonu was fortunate to survive due to timely medical intervention.
Cobras are primarily found in tropical forest regions stretching from India to Southeast Asia. They are the longest venomous snakes in the world, with a maximum recorded length of about 7 meters in the wild.
They are characterized by their hood, round pupils, smooth scales, and an upright posture, often staring directly into the eyes of onlookers. When threatened, they raise one-third of their body off the ground. Their warning hiss is reminiscent of a dog’s growl.
According to the University of Michigan, a person bitten by a cobra can stop breathing within 30 minutes. Their neurotoxic venom can kill an elephant. Despite their ability to spray dangerous neurotoxin, cobras typically do not actively attack humans.
