Upon sensing a threat, the large reticulated python immediately lunged forward, opening its mouth wide to attack a young man.
While moving through the forest, a group of young people discovered a large creature hiding in the bushes. Shortly after, the group used knives to clear some branches around it for a better view. As a result, they found it to be a reticulated python, also known as the royal python or the Asian water python.
The massive python lunged out and opened its mouth to attack a young man.
Realizing the threat, the giant python lunged out and opened its mouth to attack a young man wearing a blue shirt. Fortunately, thanks to timely reflexes, the young man was not bitten by the python.
Being pursued, the python quickly slithered into another bush to hide. However, the group managed to grab its tail and pull it out.
The reticulated python is one of the longest snake species in the world. The maximum recorded length of these snakes can reach up to 10 meters, with one being captured in 1912 in Indonesia (according to The Guardian). The average size of an adult reticulated python is about 6.25 meters.
Like other pythons, the reticulated python is non-venomous, and therefore, it kills its prey by wrapping its body around the animal and constricting it until death.
Although the reticulated python is strong enough to kill a human, it is not considered a dangerous animal to humans, and instances of attacks on people are extremely rare. As a proficient swimmer, the reticulated python can migrate to live on small islands near the coast.
