A man in India has been relentlessly attacked by crows for many years because they believe he killed a baby crow.
Shiva Kewat has been repeatedly attacked by crows.
Misunderstood as the killer of a baby crow, Shiva Kewat, who lives in Madhya Pradesh, India, has been attacked by a crow for three years.
According to Shiva Kewat, he had previously seen a baby crow trapped in a metal net and approached to rescue it. However, when he managed to free the bird, it died in his hands from exhaustion. The parents of the baby crow believed he was responsible for its death and have harbored a desire for revenge ever since.
Over the years, Shiva Kewat has been attacked multiple times by crows, leaving numerous scratches on his body. As a result, he often carries a stick whenever he leaves his house to defend himself against potential crow attacks.
“I wish I could explain to them that I was only trying to save the chick that year. Unfortunately, they always think I killed their baby,” Shiva Kewat said.
Meanwhile, the villagers where Shiva Kewat lives find amusement in the crows’ “revenge” and often watch him whenever he goes outside.
“The crows attack Shiva Kewat as if they are fighter jets diving straight into a target, just like in the movies,” one villager commented.
Notably, in 2011, researchers in Seattle, USA, discovered that crows hold grudges and have the ability to recognize human faces. They captured crows for five years for their study, but even a year after being released, the crows could still recognize the researchers.
