A robotics student is currently practicing how to touch his eyelids with his tongue, a feat he believes will significantly improve his chances of earning a spot in the Guinness World Records.
K Praveen, a 21-year-old from Thiruthangal in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, possesses a 10.8 cm long tongue, according to the India Book of Records.
According to the University of Edinburgh, the average length of a male tongue is about 8.5 cm, meaning K Praveen’s tongue is 2.3 cm longer than average and possibly the longest in the world.

The young robotics student has known that his tongue is longer than normal since he started showing friends and family the extraordinary things he can do with it.
He can use his tongue to touch his nose and elbow and can almost reach his eyes.
However, K Praveen has yet to have his tongue officially measured by Guinness World Records, but he has secured a place in the Limca Book of Records for having the longest tongue in India.
A few years ago, Praveen made his mark in the Asia Book of Records for touching his nose with his tongue 219 times in one minute.
Clearly, he has also trained himself to perform the controversial exercise of extending his enormous tongue through his mouth into his nasal cavity. He calls it the “invisible tongue” trick.
The Guinness World Record for the longest tongue currently belongs to Nick Stoeberl from Salinas, California, with an official length of 10.1 cm, which is 0.7 cm shorter than K Praveen’s.
The Indian student now plans to save money and reach out to international record organizations for official recognition.
“Although my achievement has been recognized in India, I am always looking for ways to showcase my talent to the world.
This could become a reality if only the Tamil Nadu government would assist me, as I cannot present my record globally due to a lack of financial support,” Praveen said.
