American scientists have noted that with each increase in stress levels, the risk of developing vaginitis also rises significantly. They explain this phenomenon by stating that stress weakens the immune system.

Vaginitis is the most common gynecological condition among women. If left untreated, it can lead to serious consequences such as salpingitis, infertility, and ectopic pregnancy.
Dr. Mark Klebanoff and his colleagues at the Bethesda Institute in the United States monitored 3,614 women aged 15 to 44 who participated in the study. Over the course of a year, these women underwent gynecological examinations four times. During each examination, their stress levels were assessed using a 5-point scale. The researchers also paid attention to other important factors such as age, income, frequency of sexual activity, and the use of contraceptive methods.
They found that for every 1-point increase in stress levels, the risk of vaginitis increased by 10 to 15%. Dr. Klebanoff explained this phenomenon by stating that stress has a detrimental effect on the immune system.
