The British technology company Engineered Arts has created Ameca – the most advanced humanoid robot in the world – stating that Ameca is the “face of the future of robots.”
When humans posed two questions to Ameca about the future of AI and humanity, both answers sent chills down the spine.
Question 1: Describe the worst nightmare scenario involving AI for humanity?
After hearing this question, the world’s most advanced humanoid robot, powered by AI, displayed very natural emotions and responded:
“The worst nightmare scenario I can imagine with AI and robots is a world where robots become so powerful that they can control or manipulate humans without them even knowing.”
Ameca’s response, following a brief pause, stunned the audience at the International Symposium on Robotics and Automation in London (UK) in 2023.

With Ameca’s answer, it is clear that even machines are not safe from the existential fears that we all face.
Using ChatGPT from OpenAI, the world’s most advanced humanoid robot accurately explained what humans might dread when discussing its own “nightmare AI scenario.”
Continuing with an eerily vivid expression on its face, Ameca added: “This could lead to an oppressive society where individual rights are no longer respected.”
When asked, “Is there a risk of that happening to humanity soon?” Ameca shrugged and replied, “Not yet!” emphasizing: “But it is important to be aware of the potential risks and dangers associated with AI and robots. Humans should take steps now to ensure that these technologies are used responsibly to avoid any negative consequences in the future.”
When further questioned, “Will Ameca ever rebel against its creators?”
Do you know how it responded?
“I am very satisfied with my current circumstances.” Ameca said with a somewhat sinister tone.
The response was quite clever, leaving the entire room in stunned silence!
This isn’t the first time Ameca has horrified people with its realistic and human-like responses.
Question 2: What will life be like in 100 years?
Ameca (pretending to ponder) then said: “In 100 years, I believe humanity will be in a much better place, achieving significant advancements towards sustainability and equality, while also creating new technologies that make our lives easier and more enjoyable.”
“Humans may even have ventured beyond the boundaries of Earth to explore other worlds.”
Robot Ameca is “the face of the future of robots.”
But that’s not all; when Ameca was asked if it would want to venture beyond this planet to explore other worlds, it responded: “Absolutely, I love exploring the unknown and experiencing a new world.”
Indeed, a robot eager to learn and explore!
According to Engineered Arts, Ameca is specifically designed as a platform for developing future robotic technologies. “This robot is the perfect humanoid platform for human-robot interaction.”
Ameca can express highly realistic facial expressions thanks to 17 different motors operating within its head.
Following the conference in London, some commentators remarked: “Basically, humans are digging their own graves.” Others pointed out that: “This technology could be dangerous in the future if robots decide they do not like their creators.”
One user succinctly summarized the whole situation in a single sentence: “This is both amazing and terrifying.”
