In some places, there are only hundreds of thousands of venomous snakes living without a trace of human presence.
On Earth, there are still regions considered “untouchable.” According to BrightSide, these places are known only by name and seen through pictures. Very few people have the opportunity to know what is “inside” them.
Let’s explore some of these “frightening” areas on the planet:
A place where you could lose your life in just 1 minute outdoors
That is the village of Oymyakon, located in the Northeast of Russia – at an elevation of 750m above sea level, it is the coldest inhabited place on the planet. The temperature here can drop to -71.2 degrees Celsius (recorded in 1924). Due to these extremely harsh temperatures, the village of Oymyakon has only around 500 residents.

Everything can freeze in Oymyakon.
Because of the freezing temperatures and perpetual snow, all transportation and technology are nearly paralyzed.
Moreover, if not dressed warmly enough, people can die from thermal shock and freeze their entire bodies when stepping outside in just one minute!
The Mysterious Land of Tibet
Motuo hidden in the mysterious Tibetan mountains.
Located in Eastern Tibet, the place known as “the earthly paradise”, Motuo, is hailed as one of the most beautiful fairyland-like places in the world.
This sacred place has no roads. Thus, to witness the fairy scenery of Motuo with one’s own eyes, one must trek up a slippery, steep, and perilous mountain path.
Then, crossing a rope bridge approximately 300m long over a deep gorge is necessary to reach Motuo.
Cincinnati Subway, USA
The Cincinnati Subway is the largest abandoned tunnel and station system in the United States. Built in the 20th century, the Cincinnati Subway was left unfinished and deserted for many years due to rising construction costs.
It is noteworthy that many construction workers lost their lives during the building of this project. As a result, the gloomy and desolate atmosphere of the Cincinnati Subway prevents anyone from daring to venture deep inside.
The corridor appears dark and deserted.
However, there are still daring exploration teams that enter this subway station to create exploration videos annually in May.
The Highest Highway in the World: Karakoram Highway
Situated at an altitude of 4,600m above sea level, the Karakoram Highway, stretching 1,290km, is regarded as the highest paved international road on the planet.
Karakoram Highway connects two regions of Pakistan and China. This road is built along the perilous mountain range of the same name.
During winter and monsoon seasons, this road is completely closed to traffic due to frequent avalanches and landslides. For this reason, this highway is also a sought-after destination for adventure seekers.
An island home to hundreds of thousands of terrifying creatures
This is the snake island known as Ilha da Queimada Grande (or Snakes Island) in Brazil. The isolated island in the South Atlantic is home to over 400,000 different venomous snakes.

Due to the terrifying nature of the snakes that may attack humans day or night, this place has no human residents, except for scientists and the lighthouse keeper.
Golden Lancehead Viper (Bothrops insularis), one of the most venomous snakes in the world, is considered the “King” of Snake Island.
