Edward Niño (Colombia), 36 years old, has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the second shortest man in the world, with a height of 72.1 cm.
Second Confirmation of the Guinness Record
Record holder Edward Niño, born in Bogotá, is officially recognized as the shortest man in the world at a height of just 72.1 cm.
In April 2010, Edward was awarded this title when he measured 70.21 cm. However, by the end of that year, he had to relinquish the title to Khagendra Thapa Magar from Nepal, who stood at 67.08 cm. Khagendra passed away at the age of 27 in January 2020.
On February 29, 2020, Edward reclaimed the title with a confirmed height of 72.1 cm.

Conquering the World with a Smile
When Edward was 4 years old, his family noticed that he was not growing as his peers were. Although his parents sought help from medical professionals, it wasn’t until 20 years later that Edward was diagnosed with severe hypothyroidism, which affected his growth.
Despite the circumstances, Edward has always enjoyed life and strives to face adversity with optimism and strength.
Dancing is Edward’s passion, and he has a diverse taste in music (Reggaeton, Vallenato, Merengue, and Electronic).
“For me, dancing is a way to express happiness. I can convey melodies through my small body. I feel free and strong, and I believe that no barriers can stop me from doing what I love,” Edward Niño shared.

Edward describes himself as serious, cheerful, and fun-loving. Through his personality and big heart, he wants to show the world that anything is achievable and that limits only exist in the mind.
“I use my smile to conquer the world! I always share my bright smile with everyone. That is my charm. I can achieve any goal I set. Everything is possible… Size and height don’t matter. I want people to see the real me: a small stature with a big heart,” Edward shared.
Family as a Support System
Edward is the eldest of four siblings. He always feels lucky to have the unconditional love and support of his family. He considers his family to be his world, his support system, and his everlasting joy.

Edward’s mother is his source of inspiration, motivating him to feel positive and strong.
“My mother encourages me by saying that nothing is too difficult for me. I am unique, and God has wonderful things in store for me,” Edward shared.
One of Edward’s biggest dreams is to travel around the world. So far, he has had the opportunity to visit Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador. He is eager to show the world that despite his small stature, he has a big heart.
