According to Globalnews, Brazil has reported its first case of poultry deaths exhibiting symptoms of avian influenza. This marks the first bird death in the city of Marilia, São Paulo.
Experts are currently conducting tests to determine the cause. However, without waiting for the test results, epidemiologists have quarantined the farm located near Marilia Airport.
Meanwhile, in Thailand, the Bangkok Post reported that yesterday experts discovered over 200 smuggled avian flu vaccine vials that had entered Thailand from China. These vials were confiscated in Chang Rai on October 31 and have since disappeared without a trace.
Some sources suggest that the smuggling of avian flu vaccines had ceased as of October 30, while other reports indicate that alongside the confiscated vaccines on October 31, those involved in smuggling the vaccines into Thailand were also apprehended.
