Shocking Moment: A School of Sharks Descends on a Giant Whale Carcass
A massive whale carcass, measuring approximately 20 meters, caused a stir in the deep waters off the coast of Western Australia as a school of sharks converged to feast on it.
Sharks arriving to enjoy a “feast” from the whale carcass.
The carcass was discovered early in the morning on November 15th near Rottnest Island, attracting dozens of sharks to come and “enjoy the feast.”
However, by November 16th, it had drifted close to residential areas, just over 100 meters from the Thomson Bay jetty. According to local media, the shark school consisted of about 30 individuals, primarily tiger sharks and copper sharks.
The “bloody” scene unfolded as the sharks slowly appeared on the water’s surface, drawing a crowd of onlookers to the jetty. Experts suggest that this could be a carcass of either a blue whale or a pygmy blue whale.
The presence of these dangerous predatory sharks forced local authorities to close several popular swimming areas at Thomson Bay, Pinky Beach, and Longreach Bay.
Subsequently, experts used ropes to secure the tail of the carcass to pull it away from the shore and transport it to another area for disposal. According to specialists, the meat of the whale was still very fresh.
