A German scientist has created the smallest soccer field in the world – so small that it would take 20,000 of these fields to equal the width of a human hair.
This miniature soccer field is made using nanotechnology, measuring just 500 x 380 nanometers, and can only be seen with a special microscope.
“I am very proud of this project. The only problem is that I have no idea what to do with it. I can’t display it because no one would be able to see it,” said inventor Stefan Trellenkamp at the University of Kaiserslautern.
Trellenkamp mentioned that it took him an entire day to create the soccer field design using an electron beam on a tiny piece of acrylic glass.
