Busy schedules and prolonged fatigue from work and family responsibilities are significant stressors in women’s lives, often leading to depression. However, many may not realize that a decreased libido is the first sign of depression.

In reality, underlying depression can lead to a loss of libido or difficulties in achieving pleasure for women.
In developed Western industrial countries, many workers lead such stressful and monotonous lives that it can be summarized in three words: Metro – Work – Sleep (commuting by subway – working – returning home to eat and then sleep; the next day starts all over again). Under these conditions, about 30% of women report a loss of sexual interest: a “libido dodo” where sexual desire is always in a sleepy state.
Several other factors can also lead to a decrease in women’s sexual desire. For instance, women using contraceptive pills may experience lower testosterone levels, which can lead to difficulties in achieving pleasure, and some may suffer from prolonged decreased libido.
Antidepressant medications can also negatively affect sexual desire; most of these medications reduce the ability to achieve pleasure. Some women may experience difficulty with vaginal lubrication, while others may face both issues. Thus, if one is depressed, treatment can worsen the state of sexual desire…
To escape from this situation, individuals have different choices, but the most important thing is to learn how to adjust one’s life to maintain a balanced and harmonious family life.
